BOSTON (July 7, 2025) – Massachusetts is making real progress in fighting the opioid epidemic and lowering the number of overdose deaths, and strong support from the Healey-Driscoll administration and legislative leaders in the state’s FY 2026 budget will protect and build upon these gains. The budget signed into law Friday by Gov. Maura Healey, and championed by Speaker Mariano, Senate President Spilka, and Ways & Means Chairs Representative Aaron Michlewitz and Senator Michael Rodrigues will sustain RIZE’s efforts to continue to prevent overdoses and increase access to treatment across the Commonwealth. We will not rest until we eliminate stigma and end the opioid epidemic.
